Re: monitor tool

John,

the main page for ECP is here:
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/products/ecp/?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Depending on architecture and VMS version, you use the ECP datacollector or (if newer) the common TDC datacollector. A link to TDC is on the above mentioned homepage.

Give suggestion any other tool use to monitor and extract the system resources like process ,cpu and memory. And plz give suggestion which one is more useful and reliable ECP or availability manager ...

Re: monitor tool

The MONITOR utility is good for collecting performance data as is T4.

Availability Manager is a real-time performance monitor and troubleshooting tool. It's not really good for collecting data to be used later.

ECP is more suited for analyzing data previously collected.

Re: monitor tool

As Ian suggests, T4 is an excellent utility. See http://h71000.www7.hp.com/OpenVMS/products/t4/index.html. The VMS Technical journal has an article on using T4, see http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/journal/v3/t4.html. T4 has the advantage of allowing a system history to be preserved with minimal use of disk.
