porting from alpha 200 workstation to DS 20 system

One of my application abb_link is not runngin. Message comes as "illegal image section descriptor error"
What should i do ?

Your file is corrupted. Probably by the file transfer. How did you transfer it ? FTP ASCII ? Should be FTP BINARY.

Anil,

welcome to the OpenVMS ITRC forum.

You do not need to 'port' your application, when going from one OpenVMS Alpha system to another. 'Porting' an application is typically required if you go to a different operating system or architecture.

Use $ HELP/MESSAGE BADISD to get some more information about this type of error.

Maybe the file got corrupted during the transfer ? For us to be able to help you, you need to provide more details of the command used, the full error message and what you've done with the image.

I took image backup of my disk on Dat Cartridge & again bakup that on DS-20.My other applications are runngin except abb_link.

Anil,

please show the real command and error message. Also try an ANAL/IMAGE of your failing image.
