my boss asked me to get Alpha system connected to quantum i500 LTO4 tape library. the alpha and the tape are on same switch. we have use data protector product on all windows, unix and vms. after reboot and io auto the sancp show the drives, but the vms doesnt show any tape drives. please any suggestions.

have you used the MC SYSMAN IO FIND_WWID command yet?
You will find details of how to configure fibre channel tape devices in the clutsering manual:

Do a SYSMAN> IO FIND_WWID before you do the IO AUTO. Good luck.

I must apologize for the delay but the solution worked perfectly. io find_wwid and then io auto showed the devices. thank you greatly for the pointer to the documentation. might it not be strange to be in the clustering manual?
