Solutionif something 'does not work', OpenVMS typically provides an error message. To reduce speculation about the type of problem you're seeing, it would be helpful, if you could provide the exact command you have used and the associated error message.
As you're running DECnet-OSI, you need to check the DECnet node name and address(es) with DECNET_REGISTER
$ MC DECNET_REGISTER
1 - Show information about registered node names
* Node name or address: CP01
If the address for this node is incorrect, you need to change it with option 2 - Register or modify node names
Volker.

Re: set host problem
the error prompt is %system-f-nosuchnode.
I have tried $ mc decnet_register.
1) what directory service should key in LOCALFILE, DECDNS, PHASEiv?
2) what is the difference between node-id, host-id and host-id, node-id?
Thanks

Re: set host problem
This is how a phase 4 node looks like.
Directory Service: Local name file
Node name: LOCAL:.WSYS01
Phase IV synonym: WSYS01
Node address: 49::00-1E:AA-00-04-00-65-78:20 (30.101)
