Re: tcp/ip installation openvms

Whenever performing software installations/upgrades etc, I always connect my PC to the Alpha's COM port and log the output to a file through my terminal emulator (using Powerterm 525 at present). This way you've always got the data to refer to.

If anything goes pear-shaped, you've got all the error messages logged.

If this is not possible, from the console you should be able to issue the command

$ SET HOST/LOG

then log in again. You will have a log of the session saved in the file SETHOST.LOG after you log out from the remote session.

Hope this helps

Re: tcp/ip installation openvms

Dear All,
first of all there is no dependancy in the TCP/IP package. other thing is that there is no error showing what product is missing. TCP/IP should be installed alone with no other products. Since it is put in the CD. The problem was that the CD was defected. I got a new CD and is working fine with no problem.
Thanks a lot.
