tcp/ip vax4000 (vms ver6.2)

i am working on vax4000 i want to install tcp/ip services on it. the instructions says that i need vms ver. 7.2 for its installation. is there any prob if i install it on the availbale version?

For vms v6.2 you can just install ucx v4.2 and you need ucx license on your vax.

If you just need TELNET,FTP... installing UCX on the current V6.2 system would be the least problematic option.

If want to upgrade to a newer VMS Version, you must consider compatibility with your applications and the new VMS version.

From V6.2 you can directly upgrade to 7.2 or 7.3 (see the FAQ for information about upgrade paths).

Probably you intend install a newer version of tcp/ip product incompatible with VMS 6.2. You need install version 4.2 (compatible with VMS 6.2). If you want install a newer version need upgrade operating system.
