Interesting. Apparently the HELP/MESSAGE has not been kept up to date.

Perhaps someone in Engineering should attend to correcting the HELP text to correct the incomplete description.

I do not have the comparable configuration set up in house, perhaps someone else running the 8.4 Field Test can reproduce this and report it in the Field Test problem reports.

Gosh! Really? ;-) We should be reporting any anachronisms or omissions to HP. That's the only way they'll get addressed. Don't expect the HP bean counters to allow proactive maintenance!

A really enterprising documentation lawyer might call this instance as being a special case of:

>o The device being added is not an MSCP device.

(I thought the default was for DGA devices to be MSCP served, so James must have chosen to turn it off).

But, as you say, an updated generalisation of that condition would be to say "the device must be visible from all cluster nodes".
