vax 4500
We replaced the memory board on our vax 4500.
At the chevron prompt>>> show dev
It doesn't see any of the dia devices.
The Admin can't boot to dia0.
Bootstrap failure? It sees the dib devices but not the dia devices? Why? The disks are green. Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Thanks!

Re: vax 4500
Miles,
I would not expect the memory to influence the DSSI controller, but who knows.
You may try to remove the memory and check, if the controller is visible. Maybe the powercycle just killed it.
Do you see the DSSI controller with no disks connected or is also the controller itself unvisible?
regards Kalle

Re: vax 4500
Check the connections on the DIA bus and the terminators.
Was anything moved during the replacement of the memory card?
DSSI is very sensitive and it is possible to break the DSSI interface on the VAX by disconnectng cables with the power on.
