Hi all,
I get these messages all the time on my ES45 console:
waiting for poll to complete pga0.0.0.1.1
.Poll done
Whats causing these? HBA malfunction? Any ideas?

Jan,
has this always happened on this ES45 ?
Did it start after some firmware upgrade ?
Do you only get this during boot ? Or do you also get those messages while OpenVMS is running ?
This is not a message issued from any OpenVMS driver. This message is coming from the console firmware.
Volker.

Re: waiting for poll to complete pga0.0.0.1.1
The message only is displayed at boot time. I dont know how long its already hapening, I use the system only since not so long ago.
But I got a clue here:
The release notes of ES45 V7.3 firmware say (section 6.7) :
There is a small period of time after the system is initialized where some fiber channel disks will not be displayed with a "show device" command. If the system boots during this period the message "waiting for poll to complete" followed by the device name will be displayed while waiting for the device.
(end quote)
So it seems now, that this message is documented and there is no real problem.
Thnx Volker for the reply.
