Can Tru64 5.0A license be used for 5.1B

Hi all,

My customer is planning to upgrade Tru64 Unix 5.0A to 5.1B. I have learned that we can still use the same license of ver 5.0A.

Can anybody suggest or is there is any authentic site(HP)/docs by which we can confirm this. Customer require this before going ahead.

we have done upgrades several times, we haven't faced any license issues.

whereas as our upgrades was linear (5.0A to 5.1, 5.1 to 5.1A, and 5.1A to 5.1B).

I asked HP representetive this question myself on a customers behafe while upgrading from v5.0A to 5.1B.

As long as you don´t plan to run on newer, (higher performance), hardware and stays within the same base OS, (v5.x), it´s OK.

I can´t find anything against this in Ravi´s link, so it seems to be OK
