Checking disk mirroring on Tru64.

Hi there,

How can we check on a Tru64 machine (Alphaserver DS20 server), that:
* a disk (bootdisk or otherwise) has a mirror.
* the mirror copy is valid.

For example, on HP-UX, using the lvdisplay command we can find out both the number of mirror copies the and whether the mirror copies are valid.

I assume the information will be from the volprint command, but what should I look for in the output which will answer both of my above questions.

Thanks for your reply. As I said, I am very new to Tru64 and hence unable to follow the thread completly. I know I should be reading up about system administration first, but I urgently need to find out if a particular system has its boot disk correctly mirrored. The output of volprint is attached. Can you please look at it and explain if the disk is mirrored and exactly how to derive this from the output... any help is greatly appreciated.

man volmirror

volmirror -g rootvol -D

should display mirroring info on rootvol


run it for each of your
#volprint|awk '/^vol/ {print $2}'
