DECwindows on Tru64 5.1B

Hi, i want to know if i can restore my old DECwindows of my Tru64 4.0g to work on Tru64 5.1B ?

I tried to change the files (backed from V4.0g to V5.1B) but nothing works, it says " dxsession cannot execute"

i added theese files:

/usr/bin/X11/dxsession
/usr/lib/X11/uid/DXsession.uid

and i replaced this files :

/sbin/init.d/xlogin
/usr/dt/bin/Xsession
/usr/dt/config/Xsession.d/0030.dttmpdir

I hate the new CDE really so is there any solution to get the old DECwindows work on the newer versions??,  thanks.

Why?  The "new" CDE has been old for twenty-five years; many people
made their peace with it long ago.

   I never used Tru64 V4.x, so I know nothing, but I wouldn't bet that
you could run such old executables on V5.1B.  Does anything else from
the old system run on the new ("new") system?

"nothing works" is not a useful problem description.  It does not
say what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As
usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results
(error messages, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.  Copy+paste is your friend.

   "it"?  When you do what?

Have you checked the ownership and permissions of the transplanted
files?
