Dec-Unix & Tru64

Hi all,

a very newbie question.

What are the major differences between these 2 operating systems and some history,
ie:
- has/was Dec-Unix renamed to be Tru64 and when was this
- Is DEC-Unix still very active + who is supporting it ? - HP ?

apologies for the newbie question to these 2 OS's

Thanks

- sorry, what is exactly "PVS" ?
- So by your comments, it means that DecUnix (which is up to Version 4.0F ) is no longer supported at all then. Just Tru64, Correct ?

Thanks

Re: Dec-Unix & Tru64

Hi,

pvs=prior version support
that means, that these versions do not have a regular support anymore and cost extra money to get support for.

greetings,

Michael

Re: Dec-Unix & Tru64

that is true, currently only 4.0f, 4.0g, 5.1A and 5.1B, 5.1B-? will be supported.
