Firmware Version 5.8

If I am not mistaken and as I recall, the 4100 you have to add exact same CPU as the ones already there, you can't mix and match CPU's.
Are you sure that this is the case with your system?

I have a AS4100(2Ã 400MHz CPU 2GB Mem) upgrade to 4Ã 600MHz CPU 4GB Mem,2Ã 400MHz CPU was discarded.
OS is Tru64 5.1B Cluster,
but it often hang after update.

Can you see the 4 CPU's on the SRM console?
Are all the LEDs on the CPU's lit from the back?
You said that the firmware is 5.8, why are you doing "update" then?

Hi,

the corresponding firmware release for as4100 for 5.1B is V6.0-4

you should update it to that.

Hi Mr. yan,

in your case, it's good idea to keep your firmware and patch level up-to-date first.

after that, if it still hang, you may make a crash dump image and send it to HP for analysis.
