Dual head Problem

I have an Alphastation ds15 in Tru64
environment. I purchased this workstation with
two graphic cards- Radeon 7500 64MB PCI- ,
because of I want to use dual head in my
application. I have installed the driver
(Radeon Graphic Support v1.2) for Tru64
then compiled the kernel and did a shutdown -h.
after rebooting, the command "sizer -gt" now returns only one radeon controller.
what else should be wrong?

Re: Dual head Problem

Try booting from /genvmunix, the run doconfig(NO -c), selec all options except thos with ATM, copy the new kernel to /vmunix and reboot.

Remeber also that if you want certain resolutions and vertical frequency, you gave to set both screens in Xserver.conf like:
-screen0 1280x1024 -vsync0 85 -screen1 1280x1024 -vsync1 85

Re: Dual head Problem

Did you also install the OpenGL 3D software
(subset RADGLBASE542) ? Only the 3D software supports dual heads

Also deinstall any older OpenGL 3D software that you migth have installed before.

Johan.

Re: Dual head Problem

maybe time to check OS-Version, supported option list of your machine (also tells you what PCI slot etc must be used for proper installation).

If your machine supports the named cards in dual mode it is time to verfiy proper hardware setup, next is to install the correct drivers and revisions (also explained within the graphic card page linked to the supported option list)

PS: If it is on the support option list it WILL work, otherwise is MAY work or not ;-)

Re: Dual head Problem

Dear friends,
Thank you very much for your solutions,
Finally I solved the problem by reinstalling
NHD-7.
Now two graphic cards will find after running
Sizer â gt command.
Happy New Year.
