ES40 alpha server SRM V6.4-17
We are having ES40 alpha server. Due to some reason we have shut down the server but after powering on it gives TIG error on small display screen as we checked with HP support we resolved TIG error by changing jumper settings (The solution is change the Jumper J21, change the pins 1-2 to 2-3) we completed and now no TIG error appears but new error is appearing on display screen as SRM V6.4-17.
Any solution for this.
Thanks in advance
Chandra

Re: ES40 alpha server SRM V6.4-17
console firmware version. I would call this
an informational message, not an error
message. Is that your only complaint, or is
there some actual problem which you are
trying to solve?
Note that the current firmware (V7.3-1) for
this system sounds much newer than yours.

Did you download and/or read any

1. Don't start a new thread to respond to an
existing thread.
2. Answer _all_ the questions.

What is "this"? What did you do?
3. What's a "dbt"? Debit? Goofy
abbreviations may be fun, but they do not
actually save time, or promote good
communication, especially when English is a
second language.

How about some basic information? How many
computers are involved here? Are they in a
cluster? Are you looking at the system
console terminals (whatever they might be)?

-- This server was working properly since minimum last 12 years in between these years we have restarted and shutdown this server many times .But due to some downtime last week we had to shut down the server. But after powering on it started giving TIG error. This is the new problem for this server.
With my weak psychic powers, I know nothing

-- This is ES40 alpha server. Yes we have graphics card on this server keyboard and mouse are also connected to this server. PS2 keyboard and mouse.
Did you download and/or read any
documentation for this system?
-- We have downloaded PDF of ES40 server. and have taken help from Google search also.
This is a Tru64 forum. Are you running (or
planning to run) Tru64 on this system?
-- yes we have true64 os installed on this server which was installed 12 years before.
Thanks

Ok. And you get only a blue screen with a
cursor there?
> [...] installed 12 years before.
I'm not an ES40 expert, but if it has a
lithium cell for its NVRAM, and that's now
dead, then the system may have forgotten
which console to use. If it's talking to a
serial port instead of to the graphics card,
then it might be trying to tell you
something, but you're looking at the wrong
place. If the keyboard is bad (or
disconnected), then the system might
automatically switch back to a serial
console, too.
I'd think about looking for and (if found)
replacing the power cell. After twelve
years, it's time. The manuals may say
something useful about this.
You might also try connecting a terminal (or
emulator) to the appropriate serial port.
The system should be talking to something
(other than its LCD) when you power it on.
(Popular settings: 9600b/s, 8 bits, 1 stop
bit, no parity.)
Again, I know little about an ES40, but on
some systems, Ctrl/X might get its attention,
even at the wrong console.
