ES40 tru64 4.0f latest patch kit rebooted giving kernel memory fault

Hello everyone,

I have two Alpha ES40s working in clustered mode running 4.0f and latest patch kit. Yesterday one of the server rebooted automatically giving kernel memory fault. Crash-data gives error :
trap: invalid memory read access from kernel mode
Crash-data file is attached.

Any help is appreciated

Looks like one of the oracle processes triggered this.
As this is a 4.0 system, filing a case with HP support (provided you have the essential support contracts) could resolve it soon.

Just as check, do you have:

vm:
new-wire-method = 0

vfs:
fifo-do-adaptive = 0

in /etc/sysconfigtab
These are Oracle required settings for this version and patchlevel of the Tru64 OS.
