FTP into Restricted shell account (Rsh)

Hi All,

Anyone know if its possible to ftp into an account running Rsh as the shell. This is on Tru64 5.1

Yes, it's possible, just add the path to rsh to /etc/shells.

Thanks that worked fine for login in.

My next problem is that FTP drops me into the default login directory. How can I have FTP login and change directory, I need to have this controlled by the machine being logged into.

Also FTP does not seem to follow the restricted account restrictions. Is there a way to stop the FTP login from moving out of the directory it ends up in?

The default ftp server does not provides these capabilities. What you can do is to install WU-FTPD available in the Internet Express CD and configure a CHROOTED FTP Account.
