Hi,

no offense but did you copy the new kernel to / before rebooting?

greetings,

Re: HBA cards couldnot bee seen when booting VMUNIX

When you were booted from genvmunix and built the new kernel, you did not reuse the existing kernel config file, but created a new one instead. Right?

V4.0F is quite old. What kind of cards are these? The latest ones are probably not supported.

That is one of the newer cards. Which patch kit are you using?

Re: HBA cards couldnot bee seen when booting VMUNIX

Support for the FCA-2354 seems to be in the emx driver (which doesn't necessarily mean that it's also supported).

Can show the result of the following command:

strings /vmunix | grep 'emx driver rev'

It should show 2.10 as the version and would confirm that the driver is in the kernel.

Re: HBA cards couldnot bee seen when booting VMUNIX

Mahdi,
What is the status of the cards?
Can you run emxmgr?

Take a look at the following site, it will give you an idea.

http://groups.google.com/group/fa.alpha-osf-managers/browse_thread/thread/63953eff6295bb26/b95e2ab2e8997808?lnk=st&q=emxmgr+hba&rnum=2#b95e2ab2e8997808

Or do a search in google for
installing KGPSA-CX (HBA)
