Hi

Hi Guys,

I am New to Tru64 Unix. My DS20E Alpha Server has crashed and does not boot up. I learnt from my fellow colleage that there are two paths to the boot disk. I can not boot the machine so How do I find out the alternate path. Pls can you guid me.

Re: Hi

Hi Michael,

If the server has crashed, then it will probably be sitting at a prompt similar to P00>>>

At this prompt, you should be able to see the various boot settings, by using the command "show boot*". You can also see the devices in the machine with the command "show dev"

What error do you get when the machine tries to boot ?

Cheers,

Rob

Re: Hi

Please do the following and send output of it:
>>> init
>>> show
>>> wwidmgr -show wwid
>>> wwidmgr -show wwid -full
In vino veritas, in VMS cluster

Re: Hi

Hi Guys,

Thanks..

My colleage had found out some failed components and switched the cables to the controller. We had to reconfigure the controller. The Server is up now.

Thanks to all
