How to Add a new disk

I have just added a new disk to our AlphaServer DS20E. When the server booted you could see it create the disk files dsk18 and if you run hwmgr -view devices you get the entry for the new disk which is

/dev/disk/dsk18c COMPAQ BD009122C6 bus-7-targ-15-lun-0

But if you go to /dev/disk or /dev/rdisk there is not device files listed. How do I go about getting these device files.

Thanks
Craig

Re: How to Add a new disk

Mo bets, but I believe that dn_setup will do
something useful. To kill as many birds as possible with the one stone, I normally use

dn_setup -boot

but some other option could be useful.

Thanks Steven for your help. It turned out to be a courrption of the hardware database which I had to re-build with the help of HP Tech Support. About 4 hours work and a number of reboots in single user mode.
