How to add some commend or application shortcut to muose button menu??

Hallo all

I have tru64 v4.0d, and there are tow muose button menus, the middle button menu for some applications and screen capture printing for an old printer.

Now I have installed new printer, I need to know how to edit or add commend to this menu.

Is there a text file containing this menu settings and shortcuts?? and Where??

Do you get these menus when the cursor is
anywhere, or only when the cursor is focused
in a particular application? If the menus
are specific to a particular application,
then you need to change something in that
application.

I get these menus when the cursor is
on desktop, but this menu works only in one user only "prism" (the user of auto run the imaging software of the camera).

if I log in with "root" this menu isn`t work, but in both users there is a menu in right button of mouse.

and there is a quastion massege after log in "prism" if I want to run the imaging software, I well try to see if this menu works without running the imaging software.

however, can I put some other method like shortcut icon of scrept or any thing other, for the users will works on the imaging software, but they not friendly with any unix shell or even windows cmd.

You may need to read the CDE manual(s).

You might look for differences between the
"~/.dt" directories of the different users.

Re: How to add some commend or application shortcut to muose button menu??

I have found a special binary folder for this user "prism", /img0/prism/bin, the folder contains most applications of the imaging software, so this menu seems is one of these aplications, and editing it is in some of these aplications too.

Thanks very much trying help, be sure that your help make me discover this difference.

It is deficult to know function of most of these aplications, for there isn`t "man" for them.

so I named the new printer of the same name of the old printer in the "printcap" file, so now I print on new printer with the same old commend in that menu, it is works successfully.

OK ,very thanks, these CDE manual(s) is very useful, but very huge as a sea, can you help me to know waht is the possible name of the menu I want to edit??, is it a Workspace Menu?? or a Window menu?? is a Button Binding?? or it is key Binding??

I also have no proplem if it is a keyboard shortcuts such as "Ctrl+P" for example, or any thing useful.

I realy want to solve my problems with myself, but how I can read all these manual(s)?, I should know what is the name of the thing I want.

You might use "grep" to find the file which
has your special menu option in it. When
you find that you'll know what it is.

Re: How to add some commend or application shortcut to muose button menu??

Now it is evining in my country, Im in my house, can`t see tru64 file.

OK, but I found these (by chance) while Im see the CDE manuals:

http://h30097.www3.hp.com/docs/base_doc/DOCUMENTATION/V40F_HTML/SYSADMIN/DOCU_009.HTM#HEADING416

Button Binding Syntax
The syntax for button bindings is:

Buttons ButtonBindingSetName
{
[modifier] context function [argument]
...

}

where:

button_name
Btn1--Left mouse button
Btn2--Middle button (3-button mouse) or both buttons (2-button mouse)
Btn3--Right button
Btn4--Buttons 1 and 2 together on a 3-button mouse
Btn5--Buttons 2 and 3 together on a 3-button mouse

It seems the same menu I want to edit or creat, tommoro I well see it and the file you said about.

with great thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks

(system-wide) and "~/.dt" (per-user).

In "/etc/dt" there is plenty files, and "~/.dt" isn`t exiest for my user.

But I try "man -k bindings", I found "mwm", trying "man mwm", I found this file "~/.mwmrc", I opend it and found my wish, I edited it and the menu changed successfuly.

the file ".mwmrc" is attachmentd.

Thanks very very much.
