Re: How to determine a fibre adapter Qlogic WWN in a TRU64 5.1
Are you the same person as, or do you work with, 'guna' for this topic just now:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=787800
If not, how strange! What are the odds of such similar question on the same day!
If yes, please stick to using one login name and just re-reply to your existing topic!
The emxmgr tool probably only works for emx = emulex fibre adapters, not Qlogin
The qlogic is not a fibre adapter is it? Just plain scsi no? Am i confused or are you looking at the wrong card/bus?
Could you not use:
hwmgr -show fibre -adapter
(Or a variation thereof?)
For futher help perhaps you should share some (relevant parts only) output from
hwmgr -view hier
Hein.

Re: How to determine a fibre adapter Qlogic WWN in a TRU64 5.1
first one i'm not "guna" and i don't know who is him.
I've tried the solution-response to that topic that you refer it me.
The emxmgr show me the error that i've posted before.
Qlogic is a provider for fibre chanel too.
See that reference on sun systems:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Devices/Fibre_Channel/FIBRE_Single_2GB_FC_AL.html
About hwmgr -show fibre -adapter
in V5.1 1885 alpha, hwmgr -show only accepts:
"component"
"name"
"scsi"
subsystems to work properly:
# hwmgr -show fibre -adapter
hwmgr: Error unable to find subsystem name in command line.
See the attach with de "view hier".
Thanks again.

Re: How to determine a fibre adapter Qlogic WWN in a TRU64 5.1
Right you are (of course). A conincidence!
Just after I replied I checked the profiles, on from India, on from Spain. Great!
>>> I've tried the solution-response to that topic that you refer it me.
Yeah, but that was for an Emulex.
This will not work for Qlogic as you found out.
And yes, Qlogic makes fibre adapters.
HP OEMs one called: A7523A 2Gb Fibre Channel HBAs
But best I know the Qlogic 1040 is FWD SCSI, not fibre.
We call it an KZPBA-CX adapter.
http://www.qlogic.com/products/ultra_series/ultra_one.asp
You might find some help in table:
http://h18002.www1.hp.com/alphaserver/options/asds20/asds20_15_options.html#OptListHead
I know this sounds silly, but do you really have a fibre controller in this system?
Maybe the boot record (uerf -R) or console output can clarify? P000>>> show config
Hein.
