I would like install LSM on my test cluster which is running Tru64/TruCluster V5.1B PK3. But I received this error message after this command setld -l /cdrom2 OSFLSMBASE540 :
1 subsets will be installed.
Loading subset 1 of 1 ...
Logical Storage Manager
Copying from /cdrom2 (disk)
pax: sbin/init.d/lsm : Permission denied
pax: sbin/rc0.d/K59lsm : Permission denied
pax: sbin/rc3.d/S59lsm : Permission denied
setld:
File copy to system disk failed.
Subset OSFLSMBASE540 may not have been installed properly on your system
but the rest of the installation will continue.
Verifying
setld:
There were verification errors for "Logical Storage Manager" (OSFLSMBASE540)
0 of 1 subsets installed successfully.
Is anobody has an idea ?
Thanks in advance.
Francois

Re: LSM Installation
I just wanted to make sure. ;-)
Please post:
ls -l /sbin/*.d/*lsm
Is there another version of lsm already on it?
thanks,
Michael

Re: LSM Installation
Thanks for your help. Here is the result of this command setld -i | grep LSM :
keyone11#root>setld -i | grep LSM
OSFLSMBASE540 load failed Logical Storage Manager (System Administration)
OSFLSMBIN540 installed Logical Storage Manager Kernel Modules(Kernel Build Environment)
OSFLSMX11540 not installed Logical Storage Manager GUI (System Administration)
setld: Exiting
keyone11#root>
And here is the answer of your question :
keyone11#root>ls -l /sbin/init.d/lsm
-rwxr-x--- 1 bin bin 0 Oct 17 2002 /sbin/init.d/lsm
I join to this post the complete output of the installation attempt of the base LSM subset.
Francois.

Re: LSM Installation
I assume, the lsm installation is new.
I don't think, you can install lsm by trying to install single subsets.
Deinstall all the subsets of lsm and then
try with setld -l /cdrom2/ALPHA/BASE
Look for lsm there.
hth,
Michael

Re: LSM Installation
After this setting, I was able to install the LSM base subset. Now, I have to install another and reappli the PK3.
