Messed label from previous Debian installation
Hi! I've got this machine, that had been previously installed with Debian. Its disk label is messed up: no "c" partition and disklabel does not work: "-z" or "-rw" options do not work (they present error messages).
Tru64 5.1A installation's disk partitioning utility show an error message...
What sould I do in order to relabel this BB00923468 disk?

As usual, it might help to see the actual
commands you used, and the actual error
messages you got.

Re: Messed label from previous Debian installation
Hmm, mostly I'd recommend disklabel -z and -rw as you indicate.
So waht were those error messages?
Why keep us in suspense?
Are you sure you are talking to the right drive (hwmgr -show scsi).
How about: dd if=/dev/zero count=1000 of=/dev/disk...

Re: Messed label from previous Debian installation
Jose,
I posted the same problem a while ago http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=805961
Only solution I found was to boot the Linux distro and empty the labels. Tru64 is stuffed because of the format of the Linux labels. The SRM console idea was a good one, but could not get it to work.
Hope this helps
Gary
