Re: Mount USB drive on Tru64

Run VMS on it instead of Tru64? I have not
heard of any support in Tru64 for USB storage
devices, and, at its current rate of
development, I wouldn't hold my breath
waiting for Tru64 to gain such support.

In /sys/BINARY/, I can see a few usb* files,
but they all look like basic infrastructure
plus keyboard and mouse.

I don't know if the built-in USB hardware on
an ES40 is supported, even on VMS, but if it
isn't, a cheap Chinese USB PCI card would
probably work. All you'd need would be the
missing software.

Re: Mount USB drive on Tru64

Hello Javed,

From http://documentation.commvault.com/service_pack/release_7_0_0/english_us/features/updates/tru64.htm

I can see
-----
Adds support for Dell RD1000 USB drive.
(Update 0136)
-----

So I think u can use it , m not sure.
Insert drive and find device file and mount it.

Re: Mount USB drive on Tru64

Hi,

As far as I'm aware it's not possible to utilise USB drives from Tru64. I don't believe the software was ever written, (not by DEC/Compaq/HP anyway).

If you speak nicely to someone at HP, they may add support in 5.1B-5, as that is supposed to add more "Storage Options".
