Print Daemon problem

Dear all

When I am giving print from SAP server to one AS200 (TRU64 4.0F) print queue it will stop the print daemon on the SAP server.
Same thing when I giving the print to ES40 (TRU64 4.0F) print queue the printing was done succesfully.
Any body help me to check the printer daemon configuration in both UNIX servers.
what are the Printing daemon file are to be checked ....

Thanks and Regards
Rajib

Points to be given.....

Re: Print Daemon problem

Hi,

have a look into /var/adm/messages and the log files in /var/adm/syslog.dated/current. Maybe you'll find error messages there.

greetings,

Re: Print Daemon problem

Rajib,

Is the SAP server also a Tru64 system ?
If yes what version, what is it's printcap entry for the remote printer on the AS200 and ES40. What is output of "lpc status " ?

What are the printcap entries on the remote AS200 / ES40 ? what is their "lpc status" ?

Re: Print Daemon problem

Hi

The SAP server was AIX server. From as200 we can take printout through print command, such as # lp -d "queue name" "file name"

But problem is that when print is fire from SAP unix server through as200 print queue the printer daemon was stop in teh sap server.
Printer is remotely connected in as200 print queue.
But same print given to es40 server from sap unix server , printout is OK.
Is there any printer daemon configuration difference in es40 and as200 server.
what are the configuration file to be check in both TRU64 unix server.
I want to verify or match both the printer daemon configuration. what are the files involved in this configuration..

thanks & Regards
