Purge mbox'es on Tru64 4.0f/g

I have some large mboxes that need purging.

Is this an ok method (or is there a better more conventional way?)?

cd /var/spool/mail
cat /dev/null > somebox

Don't care to save. Thanks.

I've simply deleted the files without any problems but your method should work.
