RADEON 7500 PCI graphic card and Tru64 5.1B

Have a problem with Radeon 7500 pci graphics card (2D)...on ES45 running Tru64 5.1B.
When I start my app, I get the following error in the Xerrors file:

"RADEONDRIScreenInit failed (could not resolve all required symbols). Disabling DRI."

Also, does tru645.1b support the graphics card, Oxygen 3D GVX1?

I have been successful using an Oxygen 3-D VX1 card, but since the machine was shipped with the RADEON, I wanted to configure the system to use it instead.

Re: RADEON 7500 PCI graphic card and Tru64 5.1B

question is if the machine supports the card, this can be done by checking the supported option list of the machine within the HP website.

If using the search function within the forum you will get enough information about necessary patches, NHD-kits and how to configure the card.

Hi
Is this problem solved??
I also facing some problem with this card. My problem is I unable to set resolution 1280x1024; it set defaults to 1024x768.

Re: RADEON 7500 PCI graphic card and Tru64 5.1B

I modified the /usr/var/X11/Xserver.conf file as follows ( the last line in the file):
...
! you specify command line arguments here
args <
-pn -bs -su -depth 8 -vclass PseudoColor -screen 1152x864 -vsync 60
>
In your case, you would change the resolution to 1280x1024. You will have to perform the following to restart the X server:

/sbin/init.d/xlogin stop
/sbin/init.d/xlogin start

After logging in, use the command:
sizer -gr
to see the current resolution

Re: RADEON 7500 PCI graphic card and Tru64 5.1B

Hi,
Just a little clearification on the last comments...

/usr/sbin/sizer -gt will show you the video graphics "default" resolution. It will not give you the "current" resolution.

To see the "current" resolution, you can execute the program /usr/bin/X11/xdpyinfo
-or- look at your /var/dt/Xerrors file for the current resolution settings.

sizer -gt provides only the video card's "default" settings.

PS: I've attached a copy of the RADEON Graphics configuration manual for you to see the "supported" resolution settings for Tru64 Unix on page 3-1.

Make that "sizer -gr" for the Default resolution settings...

xdpyinfo will give you the "current" settings.

Sorry about the mistype.

Thanks for the info about viewing the resolution.
