Solution
"man newaliases"?
Have you changed the "aliases" file lately?
I know nothing, but I'd guess that sendmail
is comparing the date-time on the "aliases"
file with the date-time on the associated
".dir" and/or ".pag" files, and complaining
if "aliases" is newer.

Re: Sendmail error
What do you get when you run "newaliases". This will refresh the aliases database.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: Sendmail error
When I executed the "newaliases" command , I got a message stating that there is a duplicate entry for a particular user , after removing the same and executing the "newaliases" command again , the time stamp for the alias file and the associated .dir and .pag files are now same.
Thanks for you help.
