Tru64 Device Naming/Numbering

Don't know if this is more appropriate to the Storage forum or not, but I'll start here.

Tru64 5.1B, PK4
EVA3000 running VCS 3.020

Is there some way, when deleting and re-creating EVA virtual disks, to defeat the one-up disk device number scheme used in the OS? I've tried many of the 'hwmgr' and 'dsfmgr' commands and while they do seem to clean up the relevant files and databases, the next time I create a vdisk its number is always one higher than the previous one.

Re: Tru64 Device Naming/Numbering

Refer to section 1.5.3.6 of the Hardware Management manual:
http://h30097.www3.hp.com/docs/base_doc/DOCUMENTATION/V51B_ACRO_DUX/ARSFCATE.PDF

Looks like command 'dsfmgr -vI' might do what you want.
