Tru64 Server booting in single user mode.
Hi,
One of my alpha server (Tru64 Unix Ver 5.1A) is down in our remote data center. I asked one of the data center person to manually switch it off and on. He has done it three times but everytime it is going to single user mode and it is also not detecting the keyboard.
Please help to rectify this problem.
Thanks

Re: Tru64 Server booting in single user mode.
I think you may have to change the 'boot_osflags' variable to boot to multi-user mode by default. You could do it either in the >>> prompt or by using the 'consvar' command after boot through the OS.

Re: Tru64 Server booting in single user mode.
It is very likely that you have a hardware problem.
Can you post console output?
And also post post output of:
>>> show *

Re: Tru64 Server booting in single user mode.
We had that problem on one our our Alphas. Parameter boot_osflags was set to nothing. We did:
>>> set boot_osflags A
The server then booted to multi-user.
Vic
>>> set boot_osflags A
