Re: When the temperature is hige ,the machine reboot

Ensure that the fans are working properly.

Clean the filters (if any).

Reduce the ambient temperature.

Add more fans.

Place a large block of ice near the air
intakes.

Place a large block of solid carbon dioxide
near the air intakes.

Replace the temperature sensor with a dummy
part which simulates the characteristics of
the real sensor operating at a normal
temperature.

Re: When the temperature is hige ,the machine reboot

The envmond is running on your system.
Maybe it is not running on he other one, or the ENVMON* variables have different values.

Have a look in the manpages
# man envconfig
# man envmond

Enjoy

Re: When the temperature is hige ,the machine reboot

Hello,

Below message is seen from the environmental monitoring application (envmond).

System has reached a high temperature condition. Possible problem source: Clogged
air filter or high ambient room temperature. System will shutdown in 15 minute(s)..

Possible reasons for the message is ...

1. Fans may not be working. Ensure that fans are working

2. Room temperature may be more

3. Temperature sensor might have gone bad.

4. ENVMON variable settings

Which is the system you are seeing this problem? Which version of OS is running
on the system? Check out the otput of 'envconfig -q'. Try settign the higher
value to the ENVMON variable ENVMON_HIGH_THRESH using envconfig command.
ex: "envconfig -c ENVMON_HIGH_THRESH=50"

Can you provide the output of below commands, which helps to understand the problem?
1. hwmgr -v h | grep sensor
2. hwmgr -get category
3. envconfig -q
4. syscofig -q envmon (When you see the error)

Re: When the temperature is hige ,the machine reboot

It seems there is problem with cooling in your system, either any one Fan is not working properly inorder to cool. Its better to get it checked with Hardware vendor or you can disable S51envmon from /sbin/rc3.d, which is not recommended.

You can check event with dia or uerf or webes which will show what is wrong.

Re: When the temperature is hige ,the machine reboot

Hi,

This is the same problem i have faced in my LAB and actual reason was not proper cooling also i am inline with sreedhar's comments please check the envior. vriables...

What i did i placed extra extrnal fans near the server and after that problem is resolve also in one case i have found that one of the internal fan was not working...

After replacing it and putting external fan problem was resolved...
