Xserver dumps core
I am running Tru64 5.1 in a DS20.
Of late there's this thing that i 've noticed about the Xserver.
It hogs the CPU ( 99 % from top output )and eventually crashes dumping core.
It respawns back and again starts hogging the cpu.
Any pointers on what could be done about this.
Regards,
Srivathsan
PS: This server is attached to a KVM switch for display.

Re: Xserver dumps core
Why not analyzing the core or checking what routine causes the 99%? Btw. 5.1 is not supported any more.
Btw. is the KVM certified for Alpha?

Re: Xserver dumps core
Ralf: KVM is certifed for Tru64 (we are using in our Lab)
Srivathsan: we are not facinga any such problem (with Xserver,KVM). could try by installing recent patch kit.
