Re: another advfs command is claiming exclusive use of the domain
Charles,
What do you mean by 'defragment die' and 'left in a locked state'? We once had the defragment utility get stuck in an uninterruptible state and it prevented our backup scripts from creating AdvFS clones. Is your situation similar? Our only solution was to reboot.

defragment hung and ulltimatley timed out
it says that another advfs command has it locked ... it does appear that we will have to reboot

Re: another advfs command is claiming exclusive use of the domain
Are you sure that no other AdvFS command (like defragment, balance etc) are currently running?
If so, you could delete the lock file "/etc/fdmns/.advfslock_"
Example: rm /etc/fdmns/.advfslock_usr_domain
This should let the command work again.
