changing network card order without changing card physically

Dear managers,

In an alphaserver ES40 i have the following
bcm0 at pci1 slot 5
bcm1 at pci0 slot 2
tu0 at pci1 slot 6

#netstat -i
bcm0: ...
bcm1: ...
...
tu0: ...

# ifconfig -a
bcm0: ...
bcm1: ...
...
tu0: ...

Is it possible to force "tu0" to appear (and be detected) first by "netstat" and "ifconfig" without inter-changing physically the cards?.

(I have some SW license linked to "tu0". After adding the bcm network cards i have had some problems with it. Now i have no chance to physically change it for a while ...).

Thank you.
Javier.

Change /etc/rc.config file put it the way you want to detect in IFCONFIG_0/1/2/3

and restart network.
rcinet restart
It should work.
