check net settings

Hello,

can someone tell me the best commands for troubleshooting and setting the NIC in tru64.

I know the basic commands such as ifconfig, netstat, ping etc.

The issue I have is that a server has been rebooted and the backup's are running 10 times slower.

I have checked the card settings in /var/adm/messages

Re: check net settings

You can check with:

hwmgr get attr -cat network

And change it with lan_config command, see man lan_config for more information.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

>>>Backup is running 10 times slower
i suppose u are not taking backup on tape...
How are u taking backup.....
any changes done in the system....
if u feel its about LAN your complete syatem should be slow....whenever it is interecting outside....
You may try restart network.
#rcinet restart

Any more observation you have...
