Re: dupatch is misbehaving when applying tru64 patch kit 4
I have run option 5 for dupatch and although it seems there are some issues eg "missing" files, unknown origins and broken hard links, there does not seem to be a problem with this kit.
I have attached the baseline.log generated during this process.

Re: dupatch is misbehaving when applying tru64 patch kit 4
So, did something occur during the install of patch kit 3 that caused this problem? All my other tru64 boxes have been patched and are running happily with patch kit 4.

Re: dupatch is misbehaving when applying tru64 patch kit 4
2. Why are you installing V5.1B-2 (PK4)? It's no longer under Engineering support. Only V5.1B-3 (PK5) and V5.1B-4 (PK6) are still supported. See http://h30097.www3.hp.com/pdf/Tru64UNIX_Policy_Page_Current.pdf for details.

Re: dupatch is misbehaving when applying tru64 patch kit 4
Firstly, I tried versw -setnew got this -
# versw -setnew
Failure to set the new version identifier
Secondly, this server is a clunky old DS20E used for test/dev and IMHO should have been scrapped years ago. However, the Apps Dev team still want to use to run Oracle. So the minimum patch level I require is PK4.
Hope this helps.
