fta0:Halted messages occur
Hi all,
I am using Alpha4100 566MHZ 2CPU/2048MB
Tru64 Unix 4.0E.
The "fta0:Halted messages" are recorded in /var/adm/messages file.
I guess it's network error messages.
Why does it happen?
Please tell me!
Thank you!
regards,
Man

Re: fta0:Halted messages occur
This may be problem with your FDDI NIC.
So check cables and other FDDI devices (MAU, CAU etc).

In vino veritas, in VMS cluster

Re: fta0:Halted messages occur
Thank at your kind reply.
The contents of "Halted messages" are as following;
vmunix:fta0:Halted
vmunix:fta0:Reason: Network Hardware Fault
vmunix:fta0:Link Unavailable
vmunix:fta0:Link Available
vmunix:fta0:Link transmit failure
I exchanged network cards, but they still happen.
Why does "Network Hardware Fault" message happen?
Thanks you!
regards,
Man.

Re: fta0:Halted messages occur
That could be that the system does not detects link, do you see the link led on? Network cable and the connection to the switch is ok?
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?
