hpsmhd on TRU64 doesn't start
I have installed Insight Agents v3.7 for TRU64 v5.1B, but I stoped hpsmhd daemon, when I started again I only get
Connected to 127.0.0.1:2301....
and it remains in this state.
I hope someone could help me.
Thanks

Re: hpsmhd on TRU64 doesn't start
at first glance there seems no problem!
The system mangement homepage daemon is started, and tells it is listening on the localhost adress with port 2301.
From this moment at the local (graphics) console of the system you can start the netscape browser and access the home-page at URL: http://127.0.0.1:2301.

Re: hpsmhd on TRU64 doesn't start
Hi:
I have tried a lot of things, but it doesn't work. I removed hpsmhd and I installed it again, but when the installation is going to finish I get the same Connected to 127.0.0.1:2301....
and it remains here again, when I typed
# setld -i |grep CPQIM370
i get
CPQIM370 post-load completed HP Insight Management Agents V3.7 for Tru64 UNIX.
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks a lot.

Re: hpsmhd on TRU64 doesn't start
Hi Oscar,
This might happen if another processes has binded to port 2301/2381.
hpsmhd needs ports 2301 and 2381 to be free. Can you confirm that prior to starting hpsmhd that ports 2301 and 2381 are free (with the command "netstat -a |grep -e 2301 -e 2381", which should give no output).
If there are processes using /var/shlib/libcpqhmmo.so (verified by command "fuser /var/shlib/libcpqhmmo.so"), please stop those processes too.
Stop any processes using 2301 or 2381 ports and try restarting hpsmhd.
Thanks and Regards,
Prem
