It seems you've found your way into the HP-UX Forum. I've asked the moderators to move your question to the Tru64 Forum, where I'm sure you'll have better luck.

what does 'initdefault' point to in /etc/inittab file. Check out 'man inittab' for info.

If you replaced your motherboard, maybe the SRM variables are not set or set incorrectly.
You should verify that:

OS_TYPE = Unix
boot_osflags = A

See system administration manual for information about the flags.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: i cant boot to runlevel 3 directly i have to write init 3 "tru64 V 4.0f"

hi
the line in the inittab is run level 3 as follows
is:3:initdefault:

but the console variables are

OS_TYPE IS UNIX
boot_osflags 0

i changed this the boot_osflags to A and it solved my problem.
thx so much for your help
