It looks like the number should be
54-25485-02 which is the format of a DEC partnmbr.
a01 is the revision of the part.

I aggree with Johan, probably the part number for some memory (dimm).

Please tell us exactly when and where you see that text, and what else is written there? What system, what command, what output (Copy & pasted, not retyped. The whole paragraph, not just a few words).
