input silo overflow and mmess?
I am working on an alpha ES40,OSF 5.1. In /var/adm/messagesя╝МI found something like this:
mmess:mmess_num_probed=0
and
Ace1:input silo overflow;status=63
.
I know the second one means that something is wrong with the ace1,maybe /dev/tty1,that is some device like printer or modem. But how to fix it ?
And what is mmess?

Re: input silo overflow and mmess?
are you sure that it is mmess and not mmsess?
If it is mmsess then it refers to the multimedia component of the alpha server.
greetings,
Michael

Re: input silo overflow and mmess?
have you checked on man ace?
There is a hint on maximum speed of 38400.
I am not sure however if this valid for your machine too.
