max open files limit on Tru64
Hi all,
Where can I see and modify a max open files param on Tru64, 5.1B?
Seems like I have a Samba 3's start problem due to get the following msg:
[2006/02/02 17:10:47, 1] smbd/files.c:(207)
file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 4076 are available.

Re: max open files limit on Tru64
Wrong forum.
Anyway,
This may not be a real problem.
It indicates it is just a warning.
Two directions for a solution:
- lower the samba request trhough it's init files.
- increase the Tru64 limit through sysconfig .. proc ..
open_max_hard / open_max_soft
Do you think you really need more than 4000?
Check manpage for: sys_attrs_proc(5)
For further info google for: +tru64 +getdtablesize
hth,
Hein.
open_max_hard and open_max_soft attributes in
sys_attrs_proc(5)
