Re: rlogin problem
What are the systems? Is "/root" the home
directory for user "root" on the destination
system ("the box")? I'm glad that you think
that your ".rhosts" file is good, but I
haven't seen it, and I have no reason to
trust your opinion.

Look in the system log files? Knowing
nothing about the system, it's hard to do
more than guess.

Re: rlogin problem
1) were you using root to rlogin?
2) is /root/ the default directory of root user?
3) is the ownership of /root/.rhosts correct?
4) is the name of the server you login from the same as in the .rhosts file?
5) is the server name has an entry in the /etc/hosts?

NO! : At all server you are trying to get into you need an entry for the host you are starting rlogin from!
