Installation instruction is given within the backup software, e.g. networker install guide or veritas install guide.

Be sure your ddr.dbase is up-to-date and modified as described within these installation guides.

Use the "search" function within this forum for additional information about configuring the robot or read the instruction of your backup software.

What is you robot SCSI ID?

It must be different what other devices uses ie. tape drivers and controler.

Re: robotic arm is not getting recognised on tru64 system

1) The robotic arm may be located on the separate SCSI bus.
Thus, You've got an option to forget to connect it to your host :-).

2) Do You see it from SRM console?
>>> show device

3) When I had shch library, I set up the robot to load next tape automatically just upon un-load.

#mt -f /dev/ntape/tape0_d1 offline
- and robot unload this tape and loads new one automatically. And You do not need to see the robot at all.
The fire follows shedule...

Re: robotic arm is not getting recognised on tru64 system

Hi,
Thanks for the mails, as this device is an autoloader there is only scsi port, there is no separate scsi bus externally, and this port has been connected to the host.
when I tried mounting the tape it give below error
Error on device named /dev/tape/tape12_d1 - Place SDLT320 tape drive unit #21 ON
