Re: startup fails

This means it tries to boot from device dka0, but it is not able to access it.

Contrary to popular belief, Unix is userfriendly. It just happens to be selective about who it makes friends with.

Then how can I start up my machine?

Re: startup fails

Hi,

boot with cdrom, try to mount filesets. If also unsuccessful, replace disk and restore from backup.

greetings,

Re: startup fails

Are you sure this is your boot device? Sometimes the default boot device config gets lost. Is the system mirrored? Does the system show an amber light on the disk drive?

Re: startup fails

just do "sho dev" on the >>> prompt and try to boot to each disk device you see there.
