If the tapedrive manufacturer/model is defined in /etc/ddr.dbase (and compiled to /etc/ddr.db) then, /dev/[n]tape/tape
will use the highest available density with compression enabled.
If the drive is of unknown make/model and it's highest possible density code reported via scsi inquiry is not even listed in ddr.dbase, then Tru64 will fall back to a default (see "default" under the "TAPES" header in ddr.dbase)

use /dev/tape/tape0_d1 if you wish to rewind after the dump/restore.
