i'm new with tru64 ....
i have worked with hp-ux 9000

I'd like to obtain or to kwnow some links about tru64 administration.
I think tru64 now is Digital Unix? is correct?

Could you recommend to me some links about tru64 managment please?

and another thing, could you tell me how can i add new user on OS tru64?

Digital Unix was Compaq Tru64 and Now HP Tru64.

My OS release is:
Digital UNIX V4.0D (Rev. 878); Wed Jun 13 18:08:42 CDT 2001

I can see is: V4.0D
what release can i use to study?
where can i obtain an manual exactly with the same release?

Hi,

you should have a cd with documentation on 4.0D. Is that the only machine you have? In that case 4.0F is the closed you can get but it is not supported anymore and why learn so old stuff.

Version 4 and Version 5 has major changes in administration, specially with hardware management.

You should upgrade your version if possible. If not, check the documentation CD as described above.

If you won't upgrade your system, use the 4.0F documentation.

You can add new user using the 'useradd' command. Check the man page for details.

complete syntax for useradd is follows

#useradd -c "comment" -g -d -m -s

eg. user "test" to be created in group "admin" with home directory as "/usr/users/test" and shell as "ksh". command would be

#useradd -c "name test" -g 0 -d /usr/users/test -m -s /bin/ksh test
