xinerama performance
I am using xinerama on a PWS500au with 512MB RAM running tru64 V5.1B-4, two ELSA-GLORIA 8MB graphics cards.
Runs fine, except that the text in some log windows in the software I am running is printed much, much slower compared to if I am using one screen only. Generally, all is slower but the text print is exceptional.
Here is the modification to Xserver.conf I have done to set it up:
args <
-pn
+xinerama
-nice -2
-vclass TrueColor -depth 16
-vsync0 60
-screen0 1280*1024
-vsync1 60
-screen1 1280*1024
>
Any suggestions for tuning or or other ways to fix it is greatly appreciated.

Re: xinerama performance
I know there is fix in V5.1B-4 for performance issue using panaramix/xinerama with RADEON (T64KIT1001489-V51BB27-20080519) but you need first to log a call at HP to get your case analyzed.

Re: xinerama performance
Just briefly, how do I log a HP call in this case?
Do I need to have some contract?

Re: xinerama performance
You need to call your HP local support, you should get contact at www.hp.com. Sorry but I hane n,o idea about your HP local support phone number.
Yes you need normally a valid service contract to get HP engineering involved. But as your version is V5.1B-4 which is still the last one you can try without just asking for a warranty service.

Re: xinerama performance
However, I cannot find the patch you refer to (T64KIT1001489-V51BB27-20080519).
Is it not public?
